‘Fast & Furious’ fans may not have seen the last of Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, according his brothers. Even though Paul passed away in a shocking car accident in 2013, his brothers reveal that Paul’s character could make an appearance in future movies. Seriously?!
“I had a phone call with Vin [Diesel] for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing,” Caleb told Entertainment Tonight. Vin, 49, asked Caleb and his brother Cody if it “would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back… to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there.” Cody added, “Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family.”
Paul was killed in a car crash while filming Furious 7 in 2013. His character was sent off into the sunset at the end of the movie. It was truly a perfect ending for Brian, despite Paul’s untimely death. Paul’s remaining scenes were completed with the help of CGI and his brothers serving as stand-ins. While we’re not sure bringing Paul’s character back is the best move, at least Vin got the blessings of Paul’s brothers.
Caleb and Cody also revealed that being on the set helped them cope with their devastating loss and learn things about their brother that they never knew. “We got to understand more about Paul, and what he was all about,” Caleb said in the interview.
Caleb and Cody did not say anything about Brian O’Conner being featured in the upcoming Fast & Furious movie, which has added Scott Eastwood, 30, Charlize Theron, 41, and Helen Mirren, 71, to the cast. At least two more Fast & Furious films are in the works.
