Sounds like Rayna is sticking around! Connie Britton trashed rumors that she’s leaving ‘Nashville’ in a red carpet interview at the Emmys on Sept. 18. She called the speculation ‘crazy’ and has no idea where it all came from! Click to WATCH!
“I don’t know where that stuff came from,” Connie, 49, told our sister site TVLine’s Michael Ausiello on the Emmys red carpet. “Like, it’s kind of crazy the things that come out. But what I can tell you is we’re on CMT now, and we have amazing new writers that I’m so excited to about, Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick. It’s going to be the best writing that we’ve seen on Nashville, and it’s probably going to probably be the best season we’ve ever had.”
Well, well, well. There you have it! Connie, who plays Rayna on the beloved show, revealed that she just got back to Nashville a couple of weeks ago to start production on the show’s fifth season. Reports began surfacing in Aug. 2016 that Connie would be making her Nashville exit about halfway through the upcoming season and appearing in only about 10 of the 22 episodes. At the time, our sister site said that negotiations with Connie were still ongoing.
Connie didn’t reveal how many episodes she’ll be in during her Emmys interview, but she certainly doesn’t want people thinking she’s done with the show for good! Thank goodness! Nashville is making the big move to CMT for season 5 after being cancelled by ABC earlier this year. Hayden Panettiere (Juliette), Charles Esten (Deacon) and Clare Bowen (Scarlett) are all set to return to the show. The new season will premiere in on Jan. 7 with a special 2-hour episode. Praise, ya’ll! Nashville is back!
