Apparently, no one is saying ‘Laters, baby!’ to the ‘Fifty Shades’ sequel, ‘Fifty Shades Darker,’ as the official trailer surpassed the record for most viewed trailer in 24 hours! Check out the steamy trailer that is breaking records!
“Mr. Grey will see you now.” Yes, he will! Our fave BDSM-loving couple are back in the hot trailer for Fifty Shades Darker that just happened to move Star Wars: The Force Awakens out of its first place position for most viewed trailer in 24 hours online. After the racy teaser was released on Tuesday, Sept. 13, it scored 114 million views, surpassing the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, which had 112 million views. Whoa.
The Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was released on Oct. 19, 2015 and nearly held the top spot , but it was dethroned by Fifty Shades with its highly-anticipated sequel trailer, which featured a sultry cover of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” Miguel.
Clearly fans can’t get enough of the film, due out on Valentine’s Day 2017! Fifty Shades Darker, the second film of the Fifty Shades franchise based on books by E.L. Cummings, features Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprising their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele — and people are loving it.
While filming Fifty Shades of Grey, which premiered in February 2015, there were reports that Jamie and Dakota weren’t getting along and lacked chemistry, but, that doesn’t seem to be the case in the second installment’s trailer. In the record-breaking first-look, Christian and Anastasia appear clad in dashing outfits, masks and look as if more in love and happier than ever… despite the few bumps they faced along the way, as fans of the first film will know.
In the trailer, viewers are also introduced to new characters, such as the infamous Mrs. Robinson, played by Kim Basinger. But, don’t worry — the trailer is filled with shirtless clips of Jamie and steamy hints at Christian and Ana’s sex life. You’ll have to wait until February 2017 to see the entire feature, so until then, just keep racking up those trailer views!
