Colin Kaepernick has made a new enemy, following his National Anthem protest. The QB is said to be an ISIS sympathizer, according to Iowa congressman, Steve King, for not standing during our nation’s ballad at the NFL preseason game.
Bold moves cannot be without bold reactions, which is why Steve King is speaking out against NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, 28, and his Muslim girlfriend! Steve’s claim that the QB is “sympathetic to ISIS” stems from the athlete’s decision NOT to stand during the National Anthem at a 49ers preseason game against the Green Bay Packers — a controversial statement that is now reflecting on his family!
“I understand that he has an Islamic girlfriend that is his fiancée, and that this has changed him and has taken on some different political views along the way,” said Steve to Newsmax TV, adding, ‘This is activism that’s sympathetic to ISIS.” In simple language, Steve believes Colin supports ISIS because his fiancée, Nessa Diab, and the terrorist group, have similar religious roots.
Contrary to Steve’s outlandish comments, Colin is sticking to his story that he refused to stand in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Colin explained to NFL Media. Known for his extremist right-wing beliefs, Steve thinks Colin should ask the American people for “forgiveness,” and should be suspended from playing any additional NFL games.
However, Nessa has also gotten herself into trouble for blasting her LEFT-wing beliefs all over social media. Judging from some of her Instagram posts, it seems like Nessa is a avid supporter of former leaders like Fidel Castro. The big picture here is that religion and politics are highly subjective matters, and we should all think twice before judging or misinterpreting something we do not understand.
HollywoodLifers, what do YOU think of Colin’s decision not to stand?
