He’s baaccccck! Cameron Monaghan just made every ‘Gotham’ fan’s dream come true by posting a video of that maniacal, creepy Joker laugh we know so well. He’s returning in season 3, but wait, isn’t Jerome dead?! Click to WATCH!
We’ve missed you, Jerome. Cameron, 23, posted a video via Twitter and Instagram that featured THAT voice and laugh we know so well. “Hello, Gotham…” Jerome says, followed by his terrifying cackle. Looks like Jerome’s making a comeback in season 3!
While we are so excited that the guy we all know eventually becomes The Joker is returning to Gotham, we’re just wondering how? Jerome was seemingly killed by Theo Galavan in season 2. Theo stabbed Jerome in the neck!
Gotham creator John Stephen has never officially confirmed that Jerome is the guy that would one day transform into The Joker, Jerome has/had all the best and most evil characteristics of the classic DC villain. Plus, fans are totally on board with him being The Joker. Cameron’s performance has been simply outstanding. He completely transforms into the insane character.
Since we’re talking about Jerome here, could he just be messing with us? After Jerome’s apparent death, copycats started popping up in Gotham trying to mimic his craziness. Gotham’s showrunner John Stephen revealed at the TCA press tour in Aug. 2016 that The Joker’s role on Gotham is not over yet.
“The cult of The Joker, which we started at the beginning of [Season 2],” upon Jerome’s seeming death, “is going to extend and deepen and change a little bit this year, where you have these sort of underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented.”
Gotham returns for season 3 on Sept. 19 on FOX.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Cameron is really coming back to Gotham? Or is he just messing with us? Let us know!
