Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is breaking onto the big screen in the upcoming film, ‘Ordinary World.’ Despite the title, this film seems to be far from your average story. See the action-packed trailer here.
This looks like a winner! Billie Joe, who plays Perry Miller in Ordinary World, seems like your typical guy. He has an ordinary job working at a hardware store, an ordinary family with a nagging wife, daughter, and in-laws. To top it all off, he has an ordinary dream of making it to the big time in music, but absolutely no idea of how to get there.
When Perry’s family happens to forget his 40th birthday, the middle-aged musician wannabe decides to give his life the makeover it deserves with an epic birthday bash at a luxurious penthouse suite. Thanks to his trouble-making friends, the night quickly spirals out of control! We don’t want to give anything away here, but let’s just say that uptight security, strippers, and raging adults don’t really mix. In the 2-minute trailer, you get a glimpse of Perry’s wacky life as it goes from ordinary to extraordinary. SO cool! Many of the scenes jump from his daughter’s recital, to his home life, and his Hangover-inspired bachelor night. It may seem like Perry gets the best of both worlds by the end, but something tells us he’s going to have to choose a side — boring family life or the lifestyle of a rock n’ roller.
This is Billie Joe’s first feature film, but he already looks like a breakout star. Not to mention, he’s accompanied by some great supporting stars including Selma Blair and comedian Fred Armisen. The Green Day frontman also contributed the lead single “Ordinary World” to the film’s soundtrack, which also inspired the movie’s title.
Ordinary World was originally premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in March 2016 and received quite a lot of buzz. The film will only be re-released into select theaters and be available on DVD/Blu-ray and digital download on Oct. 17. We can’t wait to see it!
