Who knew someone like Kanye West has role models! Turns out, the rapper idolizes Will Ferrell, and if there’s ONE man worthy of playing Kanye in a biopic, it’s the legendary comedian. Read all the juicy details, right here.
Just when we thought Kanye West, 39, placed himself at the top of the Hollywood food chain, we find out he willingly serves under his number one idol — Will Ferrell, 49. “To me, Will Ferrell is royalty,” admits the “Famous” rapper to W Magazine. “He is one of my personal gods. I would like Will Ferrell to play me in ‘The Kanye West Story.’ Can you make that happen?” Wow, we are in shock right now at the fact that Kanye is allowing someone ELSE to portray him in a movie.
The hubby of Kim Kardashian and the former SNL icon first collaborated on the comedy Anchorman 2, which must have been a dream come true for Kanye! As for the Elf star, working with Kanye turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant experience, despite the fact that he was playing his OWN music on set all day. “It was very surreal to have Kanye — who’s such a big fan of comedy — in our movie hanging out for two days,” Will admitted to the Huffington Post, adding, “He was playing the new tracks a lot — over and over. Even when you’re trying to film, he’s playing the tracks.”
Judging from his ego, and the fact that he calls himself a “creative genius,” we never thought we’d hear Kanye praise someone else. In fact, we’re used to the opposite! The rapper has a reputation for being a loud mouth, and his words often feel like intimate attacks. Celebs like Taylor Swift, Jimmy Kimmel, and Kid Cudi have all felt personally victimized by Regina George — oops, we mean Kanye.
