Selena Gomez shocked fans when she announced she’d be taking a break from her world tour to focus on her health, and her friend and fellow musician Charlie Puth has come forward to support her in a Sept 15 interview. WATCH Charlie explain why he thinks it’s a good idea for Sel to stop performing for a while!
Selena Gomez, 24, is taking time off from touring because of issues related to her lupus, and Charlie Puth, 24, is behind the “Same Old Love” singer 100%. He appeared on the ITV talk show Lorraine on Sept. 15, and stepped up to support his friend and collaborator when asked about her health. “I think it’s a good idea to take a break from the spotlight,” Charlie revealed. “Like, for me today, I’m not even going to look at social media. Ten years ago, we didn’t look at all that stuff all the time. You start to realize how observant you are,” he added. So true. WATCH above!
Charlie and Selena teamed up for the hit “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, and we’re so glad that he is looking out for her. Selena’s lupus has recently caused her to struggle with “anxiety, panic attacks and depression”, as she told fans in an Aug. 30 statement. She has since canceled tour dates and festival appearances, and while many fans are bummed that they won’t get to see her, health is the most important thing and we wish her all the best.
As we previously told you EXCLUSIVELY, one person who isn’t too concerned with Selena’s health is none other than Justin Bieber, 22. “He hasn’t reached out to her — he isn’t spending his time worrying about her,” a source told us. Luckily, Selena has friends like Charlie and Taylor Swift, 26, who are there for her! Who needs The Biebs, anyway?!
