Backstreet’s back… again! The band recently released a single with country duo Florida Georgia Line, so will the taste of country affect their upcoming album? AJ McLean and Nick Carter tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY what we can expect from their new music. See the interview, here.
The Backstreet Boys are back in the studio and working toward their tenth studio album. In June 2016 country band Florida Georgia Line revealed to fans that they LOVE BSB and did a cover of their hit “Everybody.” Then they decided to team up with the guys on “God, Your Mama, and Me.” The song was beautiful and definitely country. Did working on the hit give the boy band a new direction for their upcoming album? AJ McLean and Nick Carter gave HollywoodLife.com the EXCLUSIVE answer.
“We’re still just now tapping into the creative process right now,” AJ revealed. “We’re about 6, 7 month into the writing creative process but that was just a collaboration that just presented itself. We found out that they’re huge BSB fans as well as that we’re huge FGL fans so the natural progression was ‘let’s do a song together’.”
So what WILL the new album sound like? “I mean who knows what this next album is going to entail. It could be R&B, it could be country, it could be pop, it could be all of it,” he continued. “We don’t know yet. We’re still trying to figure that out but we’re definitely going to push the envelope and try to make this the best possible record that we possible can. It’s our tenth album coming up on 24 years together so expect great music, a brand new tour next year, and a brand new album next year.” Woo! We can’t wait.
