We need to talk all things Vivienne Tam! She debuted her Houston, TX inspired collection at NYFW Sept. 12, and had us thinking we were in a futuristic world, with a rodeo twist! Patch-embroidered denim, delicate fringe, canvas jackets and so much more filled the runway and we were instantly obsessed! See the collection here!
Vivienne Tam really set the bar this season at NYFW! She debuted her Spring/Summer Collection, and we were in awe over the creative theme and diversity of her incredible looks. Known for her East-meets-West approach to fashion, she married futuristic metallic looks and Houston Cowboy pieces to make the perfect combination.
Her collection was inspired by the “vibrant diversity and energy” of Texas, where “art, music, culinary arts, sciences and technology intersect harmoniously in a multicultural cornucopia.” It was brilliant. We saw electric colors, with NASA blue and inspiration as one model rocked a white dress with tulle shoulders. The look had NASA patch embroidery all down the front, and we loved it. Another favorite of ours was the silver metallics that covered the runway. In all different looks — a plunging dress, cropped half-sleeve blazer, and an off-the-shoulder top — the “Space Cowboy” theme was a breathtaking.
We could totally see Miley Cyrus, 23, owning these looks anywhere! The collection, a crossover from space to hippie fringe, totally reminded us of the self-proclaimed free spirit. When we started to see fringe, bayou-outlined patterns and colorful dresses, we almost got a major Coachella vibe. Gorgeous tunics and wide-legged pants emerged as well, and we quickly thought Vanessa Hudgens, 27, could be rocking the looks!
One of our favorites from Vivienne Tam was when she paired fringe with silver, shining metallic pants! We just couldn’t get over how she seemed to mix polar opposites to create genius style. We loved the collection, and we’re not sure how she’s going to be able to top her NYFW SS17 presentation. But, we know she will find a way!
