What a year it’s been for Kelsea Ballerini! The country singer’s third single, ‘Peter Pan,’ has hit No. 1 on the charts, and with the huge accomplishment, she’s set a new record for females in country music. Get it, girl!
“Peter Pan” is Kelsea Ballerini‘s third single to reach No. 1, following the success of her debut “Love Me Like You Mean It” and its follow-up, “Dibs.” This makes her the first female country singer to have three consecutive No. 1s from a debut album — talk about EPIC, right!? The 23-year-old, who became friends with Taylor Swift, 26, last year, wrote all three songs, as well.
“Being the first female in country music to do this just inspires me to keep working hard and creating the best music I can possibly make,” Kelsea tells HollywoodLife.com. “”Peter Pan” was my favorite song off the album, so releasing it was enough for me — but to make history with it, that’s bigger than I ever imagined.”
This success is only just the beginning for the rising star, too. She’s nominated for New Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards, and is heading out on her very first headlining tour this fall. After spending the summer on the road with Rascal Flatts, she’s clearly gotten a feel for what it’s like to be on a successful tour, and we can’t wait to check her show out!
Both “Peter Pan” and “Dibs” have been GOLD-certified, while “Love Me Like You Mean It” has become Kelsea’s first platinum hit. Clearly, this gal is one to watch, and we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her!
