WOW! The Duggar family may have just gotten bigger, since a new report claims Jim Bob and Michelle ‘were granted temporary guardianship of an 8-year-old boy.’ The two are apparently in the midst of ‘hopefully’ making the reported custody ‘permanent’ in the coming months. Get the alleged details here!
The Duggar family rose to fame from their hit TLC show, 19 Kids & Counting, and they may just be a brood of 20 now! Jim Bob, 51, and Michelle, 50, were apparently granted temporary guardianship of an 8 year-old-boy, In Touch reports. The mag claims to have obtained Benton County, Arkansas legal documents that reportedly state the two were were allowed makeshift custody of the boy August 31, who is supposedly the son of Michelle’s niece, Rachel Hutchins. According to the mag, Rachel is “homeless, unemployed and has financial setbacks and problems with the law.”
They are reporting that the Duggar couple are due back in court November 14 to make the guardianship permanent. A source tells the mag “There’s a strong hope that once that happens they will be able to adopt him.” The boys mother has allegedly signed the legal docs giving the family guardianship. Could this seriously be true?
The source also claims, “Helping this little angel was an answer to their prayers.” Rachel supposedly “gave up custody of her son in [August 2015] to her mother, Carolyn. But in July, Carolyn suffered a stroke.” The Duggar’s have yet to confirm or make a public statement about the alleged reports. While we are unsure if these new reports are true, what we do know is that Jim Bob and Michelle were supposed to have a 20th child. She suffered a miscarriage in December 2011.
The family has been the center of controversy since news about their son’s scandal broke and caused a media firestorm. Josh Duggar, 28, admitted to sexually molesting multiple young women in the past, some of which include his own sisters. Their hit show was taken off the air in May 2015.
