After being announced as the winner of ‘America’s Got Talent’ season 11 on Sept. 14, Grace VanderWaal cried tears of joy up on stage. She couldn’t believe her ‘AGT’ dream had just come true!
It’s official: Grace is the winner of America’s Got Talent season 11! The competition was down to Grace and The Clairvoyants, and the second Nick Cannon, 35, announced Grace was the winner, the 12-year-old musical prodigy dropped to her knees. She started crying and couldn’t stop. Aw! She was just so happy!
Nick hugged her up on stage and asked if her tears were happy tears. “Yes, of course!” she tearfully replied. Grace reacted like anyone would after winning one of the biggest competitions! After weeks and weeks of performing and the stress of the competition, Grace can finally relax and enjoy her incredible moment.
Grace was a fan favorite from the very beginning. The judges were so impressed when Grace auditioned with an original song. Simon Cowell, 56, called her the “next Taylor Swift.” She continued to wow everyone with her voice over the course of the competition.
For her last performance before the final vote, Grace sang her original song “Clay.” As expected, she was breathtaking. There’s no denying that she’s an amazing singer at just 12 years old! Simon told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he gets Kelly Clarkson, 34, vibes from Grace.
On the Sept. 14 finale, Grace took the America’s Got Talent stage for the final time with a terrific rendition of “I Don’t Know My Name,” the original song she sang in her audition! She also got to meet the iconic Stevie Nicks, 68! The Clairvoyants were great, but Grace totally deserved to win AGT this year. She is an anomaly! Congrats again, Grace! This is your time to shine!
