She’s years removed from her time as a stripper, but Amber Rose just can’t seem to escape that part of her past. But what makes her even more angry is that there’s a totally different view of famous men with that same background, like Channing Tatum! See what she has to say about the double standard here.
Both Amber Rose and Channing Tatum have been open about their time as strippers, but what Amber can’t stand, is that Channing seems to be praised for it, while she’s ridiculed.
“He even made a movie about being a stripper!” she exclaimed to Cosmpolitan South Africa. “And everyone bought it and they loved it and they were like, ‘Oh my God, Magic Mike, we gotta go see it!’ But if I did that, people would tell me I was disgusting. I run eight businesses, I’m the CEO of my own company, and still, I’m called a stripper. It’ so ridiculous. We’ve had the same life, [Channing] and I, and I’m dumbed down for it. It’s not his fault — it’s just society.”
Hey, the girl has a point! She did what she had to do at the time to make ends meet, and has clearly moved on from that era of her life — so why the hate?! Meanwhile, Magic Mike was SO popular, a sequel came out in 2015, and now, Vegas is featuring a live show of the story. Clearly, there really is an entirely different standard here.
But, obviously, Amber does a great job at tuning out the haters, and she’s currently showing off her present-day self on Season 23 of Dancing With The Stars. Although she seemed a little uncomfortable during the premiere, we have a feeling she’ll be a force to be reckoned with on this show!
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with Amber that there’s a double standard when it comes to her and Channing? Do you think she’s judged too harshly for her past?
