It all comes down to this! Grace VanderWaal performed for her final time on the Sept. 13 episode of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ and that meant she brought her serious A-game. So, why chose the song ‘Clay?’
“I just really thought it showcased my voice a lot, rather than showcasing my song from other performances,” Grace Vanderwaal, 12, told HollywoodLife.com after her epic final performance on America’s Got Talent. “Personally, I think it went pretty dang well. Obviously anything could have been better. It could have gone better but it went pretty good.”
As for what’s next — after “a little rest” of course — she’s not sure what’s next. “As long as I can make a living off of anything to do with music — preferably singing and get by on it, that would be the dream for me,” she said. “My style I would consider like indie popish, folk, all that kind of mixed.”
She did however, admit that while she’s had comparisons to Taylor Swift, she listens to music that’s very different than everything she actually does. “I don’t really listen to the style that I like to sing, “she told reporters. “I like to sing more indie pop. But I like all music. I like Odessa, Meghan Trainor, Elle King, 21 Pilots, pop, any radio pop, everything, indie.”
And when it comes to collaborations, it’s also not Taylor Swift. “Elle King because I really like her voice and her style, or 21 Pilots,” she said. However, she would of course enjoy the “success level” of Taylor — and who wouldn’t?
The finale of America’s Got Talent will air on Sept. 14 on NBC at 8PM ET! Do you think she could win it all? Let us know.
