The Gunners was almost without one particular weapon in their (pun intended) arsenal, as Laurent Koscielny, 31, was questionable for the match. During Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Southampton on Sep. 10, Laurent took a heavy blow to the face, according to Sky Sports. It was Laurent who scored the equalizer in that game, and while some were worried he wouldn’t make the trip to Paris, coach Wegner said, “He’s all right. He had a big knock on his face but he recovered quite well.”
For this match in Paris, it might be a little personal for both PSG and Arsene. The French squad has tried multiple times to get Arsene to coach the Ligue 1 team, according to ESPN, but the Gunners’ manager has shot them down every time.
“I love where I am,” he told ESPN. “I know well the owners [of PSG] but I feel always I am loyal to Arsenal football club. I think it’s a club that has the qualities I love, and that’s why.” though, Arsene’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season, so who knows where he could end up? He might regret turning PSG down, as Arsene sees the French squad as “a good test” and “above everyone else in France.” Could the Parisians’ best revenge be sending Arsenal back home to England with a loss?
Who do you think will win this Champions League match, HollywoodLifers? Will Arsenal nail a bull’s eye or will PSG power their way to victory?
