The tucked braided ponytails spotted at the SS17 Creatures of Comfort show are a cool, easy, modern hairstyle you can do yourself. Read expert tips to copy the look below.
Joseph DiMaggio, Master Session Ambassador for Davines North America, said about the inspiration for the look:
“I see this season’s woman as the true creature of comfort, embodying the sophisticated comfort that Jade so effortlessly designs. A big influence for the collection was Frida Kahlo, but I did not want to show a literal take on her signature hair. The hair look has three representative components: the low ponytail is the most comfortable hairstyle, while the braid is all Frida. I folded it under to elevate it and complete that sense of sophistication the collection exudes.”
Here’s how to get the look:
“Create a center part and layer the entire head generously with Davines Your Hair Assistant Blowdry Primer.
Blow dry the hair directing the roots back, into a low ponytail.
Pull a slim section of hair out from behind each ear, near the nape of the neck.
Secure the rest of the hair into a loose low ponytail.
Apply more Your Hair Assistant Blowdry Primer to the slim sections to combat any frizz.
Then, wrap the two sections crisscross across the top, underneath, and around the pony one full time.
Twist the two pieces together and tightly make a loop. Secure with pin to ponytail base.
Create a loose three-strand braid the ponytail and secure the end with an elastic.
Fold the braided ponytail underneath in half and secure the end.
Soften the hairline and apply Davines More Inside This Is A Dry Texturizer to finish the look.”
