It’s time to go back to school! Lauren Graham talks about her new role as a ‘lenient’ mom in ‘Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life,’ what it was filming in a middle school and more in his EXCLUSIVE featurette! Click to WATCH!
Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life, follows Rafe (Griffin Gluck), who finds himself as the fish out of water when he transfers to a rule-crazy middle school. Lauren Graham, 49, plays Rafe’s mom, Jules, in the movie. Lauren laughs in the featurette that Jules is a super “lenient” mom. (Kind of like Lorelai Gilmore, right?!)
“So, I’m a single mom,” Lauren says in the video. “I’m trying to be a chef, but I’m not quite there yet.”
Rafe has a wild imagination, and he’s incredibly gifted. He’s also not afraid to get his hands dirty in the name of fun.”Rafe is sort of a misfit,” Lauren continues. “One of the ways he expresses himself is through his art”
Jules tells Rafe that in order to stand out and make a difference, he needs to think outside the box. Her words of wisdom inspire Rafe to break every rule in the rule book at the middle school!
A huge chunk of the movie was filmed at an actual middle school. “I’m always glad I can leave at the end of the day,” Lauren says about filming there. She shudders recalling memories of having to follow rules and do homework! LOL!
Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life, based on James Patterson’s best-selling book series, will be released on Oct. 7. The movie also stars Adam Pally, 34, Rob Riggle, 46, Retta, 46, Efren Ramirez, 42, Thomas Barbusca, 13, Isabela Moner, 15, Jacob Hopkins, 14, and Alexa Nisenson, 10.
