Instant classic! NFL radio announcer Kevin Harlan gives the best play-by-play of his life on Sept. 12, during Monday Night Football, when a wild fan runs across the field. Keep reading for the LOLZ video from the Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
The first football game of the regular season for these two teams was a boring blowout late in the 4th quarter when Kevin Harlan, 56, called one of the most epic moments in football ever. “Somebody has run out on the field, some goofball with a hat,” the announcer for Westwood One Radio began as a wild fan ran in circles around football players. Kevin described every movement with the same energy and excitement as any big Super Bowl moment. Kevin was fun, funny, genius, beautiful, silly, amazing and everything we love about sports.
“Now he takes off the shirt,” Kevin calls the action like it’s a running back heading for a big score, “he’s running down the middle by the 50, he’s at the 30, he is bare-chested and banging his chest. Now he runs the opposite way.” At this point in the game, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the home team 49ers had a firm 21-0 lead over the Rams and this bit of excitement was a welcome distraction in an otherwise boring 4th quarter.
“The guy is drunk, but there he goes,” Kevin continued about the fan whose intoxication may be unclear but one thing is certain and that is his level of fanaticism is turnt all the way up! “Somebody stop that man! And they tackle him at the 40 yard line! That was the most exciting thing to happen tonight,” Kevin concluded and we couldn’t agree more. Bravo sir!
