No one messes with Derek Hough’s family! That’s the message he put out there on the premiere of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after the two Ryan Lochte haters crashed the show. Derek actually ran into the audience to kick out the other protestors! Watch the video here.
In a new video from ABC News, we see that following security’s removal of the two protestors who ran on stage at DWTS, they then had to remove four or five more people wearing anti-Ryan Lochte shirts, that were sitting in the audience. But they didn’t do it alone — pro dancer Derek Hough actually ran into the audience to help out security, showing just how much he loves this show.
“Get out of here! Come on, get out,” you hear Derek telling multiple people in the audience; while they get escorted out, he continues to point to the door. “It’s a good show, a positive show!”
After the show, Derek also spoke to People, saying that the show is his “home,” so he felt it was right to protect it. “I was just so shocked that people would come here and be so negative. This is a safe place for people to learn a new skill and seek redemption or start a new chapter in their life and that’s what Ryan is trying to do,” he told the magazine. “I just felt so defensive that someone would try and ruin that for him and for everyone watching, so I took it upon myself to make sure they were escorted out. I wanted to protect my home.”
Host Tom Bergeron, who handled the situation like a pro, video’d in to GMA on Sept. 13 and broke down the moment, admitting that he knew things were serious when he saw Carrie Ann Inaba‘s face change. “Derek ran right over to them,” he said. “I heard Carrie Ann say ‘there are more, there are more!’ He left in defense of the show, which I love him for. Times of crisis, if you will, certainly bring people together. In this case, that’s what he was doing.”
Well, the most important thing is that everyone involved is okay. So, are you shocked that this would happen, HollywoodLifers?
