It was all about soft washes of color at Tracy Reese’s garden themed spring 2017 collection. The designer, who’s known for her use of color, didn’t disappoint when it came to the gorgeous lavender and pink used in her models’ makeup looks. Find out exactly how to copy the purple smokey eye trend seen at Tracy and on celebs like Rihanna, ahead.
Designer Tracy Reese threw the most fashionable garden party we’ve ever seen on Sept. 11 in NYC, with models of all ages, sizes and ethnicities sporting her colorful, printed collection. Though she chose two pastel-focused makeup looks for her models, the lavender smokey eye and soft pink lip combo is one we can’t wait to try out. Plus, we’ve already seen celebs like Rihanna channel a similar look.
Behind the makeup was Luis Casco, who worked with Mary Kay Beauty to create the perfect mix of purple and pink. On the skin, Luis used Mary Kay CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15, $20, to even out the complexion. After adding extra coverage to dark circles or blemishes with the Undereye Corrector, $16, and Perfecting Concealer, $16, Luis turned his attention to the eyes, which were the focal point of the look.
Using the Cream Eye Color in Pale Blush, $14, as a base on the lids, Luis blended the Mineral Eye Color in Iris, $9, along the lids and up to the brow bone. To add more dimension, Luis applied the Mineral Eye Color in Precious Pink, $9, over top and completed the eye makeup with Lash Intensity Mascara, $18, on the lashes.
Luis then added another pop of pink on the cheeks with Mineral Cheek Color Duo in Ripe Watermelon, $18, which comes with a blush and highlighter. Then, he finished up the look by lining the lips with Lip Liner in Light Nude, $12, and applying the new Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Bashful You, $18, over top for a natural hue.
