Katy Perry is down for a collaboration with Taylor Swift…but is the feeling mutual? It turns out Tay has no interest in working with the ‘Rise’ singer, and HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop about why!
Fans went nuts when Katy Perry, 31, publicly declared on Twitter that she’d for “sure” make music with Taylor Swift…”if [Taylor] says sorry.” This statement was especially shocking considering the history between these two ladies: Their feud went public in 2014, and has lasted ever since. But even though Katy has now somewhat extended the olive branch, Taylor wants no part of it, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned!
“Why would Taylor want to collaborate with someone whose latest single, “Rise,” didn’t even break the Top 10?” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Taylor is a ten time Grammy winner. Katy has zero Grammys.” Yep, that definitely sounds like there will be no collaboration happening!
Speculation that these ladies were feuding began when Tay told the story behind her song “Bad Blood” from 1989, which is about a falling out with a “friend” in the industry who tried to “sabotage” her tour. Although she’s never confirmed that Katy is the subject of the track, the 31-year-old’s subsequent tweet calling out “the Regina George in sheep’s clothing” pretty much made it crystal clear. Plus, then Calvin Harris, 32, admitted on Twitter that Taylor had tried to “bury” Katy in the past, so….there ya go.
Both Taylor and Katy are due to put out new music sometime soon, although neither has announced any information about a first single or new album. But if Katy was hoping that her comeback would include a collaboration with the hitmaker, it looks like she can say goodbye to that idea — and she probably won’t be getting an apology anytime soon, either!
Meanwhile, Tay’s BFF, Gigi Hadid, 21, confirmed on Sept. 9 that the 26-year-old has been back in the studio working on new music, and with two breakups this summer PLUS a public feud with Kanye West, 39, and Kim Kardashian, 35, she sure does have a lot to write about. We can’t wait to hear it, of course!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Katy and Taylor should collaborate? Do you think either of them will ever apologize?
