This is Dylan O’Brien like you’ve never seen him before. The ‘Teen Wolf’ star becomes a gun-toting CIA black ops recruit in ‘American Assassin,’ and the first photo from the film is all kinds of intense. Click to see!
Where did Stiles Stilinski go?! In his most adult role yet, Dylan, 25, takes on the role of CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp. The first photo shows that Mitch is not to be messed with. Mitch is pointing a gun at a very unlucky guy in the picture. With his slicked back hair and bulging muscles, this guy is a far cry from Dylan’s Teen Wolf character. We are so here for it.
American Assassin, based on Vince Flynn’s best-selling novel, follows a young Mitch Rapp, a counterterrorism agent under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). Mitch and Stan are asked by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate what seem to be random attacks on both military and civilian targets.
The three of them soon find themselves teaming up with Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a shady operative (Taylor Kitsch), who wants to star a war in the Middle East.
Stiles lovers, be prepared. This movie is going to rock your world. The official Twitter page for the movie tweeted that the role may be an “initial shock” to Dylan’s fans because Mitch Rapp is “a decidedly adult role.”
This has been quite the roller coaster year for Dylan. In addition to filming American Assassin, Dylan is still filming Teen Wolf’s final season. In March 2016, Dylan was injured on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Production on the movie was shut down because of the seriousness of Dylan’s injuries. Dylan’s been recovering over the past few months, but he’s clearly back in action now! American Assassin does not have a release date yet.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Dylan’s take on Mitch Rapp in American Assassin? Will it be his best role yet? Let us know!
