Novak Djokovic has swept the US Open by STORM with his incredible serves and smashes, but his toughest competition against Stan Wawrinka still awaits. Does Stan have what it takes to steal the crown from the defending champion? Watch the LIVE stream here to find out.
Ranked number ONE in men’s single tennis, Novak Djokovic, 29, has rightfully earned his place in the 2016 US Open finals. But just because he won the championship last year, that doesn’t mean his match against Stan Wawrinka, 31, will be an easy one. Stan crawled his way to the top spot by beating Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals, and has this eyes on $3.5 million prize! WOW! Novak is currently UNDEFEATED in this year’s competition, as he took down each of his six opponents on his way up the ladder to victory. It would be an ironic turn of events if Stan served (literally) Novak’s his first loss in the finals. The main event goes down on Sept. 11 at 4PM EST, and you won’t want to miss a second of it! Novak, originally from Serbia, has a total of twelve Grand Slam wins under her belt. Eager to make this his thirteenth, Novak has put in countless hours of training, and has limited his meals to a very strict gluten-free diet, which he discusses in his “physical and mental” guidebook, Serve To Win. And if you saw his six-pack, you’d know his words of wisdom work. In addition to healthy eating, Novak swears by this workout routine to get the blood pumping before hitting the tennis court: ten reps of jumping jacks, squat thrusts, lunging to the side, walking high kicks, and reverse lunges.
Not only is Novak looking to defend his 2015 championship title, he’s eager to make up for his devastating loss at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, where he was sent home after a first-round loss. The tennis star has been slightly struggling with a wrist and elbow problem recently, but judging by his US Open performance, those minor injuries aren’t slowing him down.
