We headed to the Jill Stuart Spring 2017 runway show and as always, we were blown away by the edgy, bold pieces. Luckily, I got to speak to Jill Stuart before her big show and she had so much to say about her amazing collection!
Jill Stuart was so excited about her collection, which was so well-though out and unique.
I asked Jill where she got her inspiration from, and I was blown away when she explained. “The inspiration came from this girl that’s a performer and a dancer, it came from Loie Fuller, the serpentine dancer. She’s going from dress rehearsal to the stage and in this dark dramatic, kind of mood. I started to do research on the serpentine dancer.” How amazing and interesting is that!?
As for Jill’s favorite look from the collection, “That’s a really, really, tough one! I love a lot of the layering of the knitwear with the pleated chiffon skirts.” Well, later on when we saw the show, it was our favorite look, too. We couldn’t help but think of Emma Roberts when we saw one of the looks — the flowy gold midi skirt with a gray knit sweater.
We could expect to see a lot of more looks like this, too, because when I asked about the trend Jill’s most excited to see, she said, “I think a lot of long flowy skirts and a lot of layering pieces.” Well, we cannot wait to try it out for ourselves!
Once we got to see the show for ourselves, we were freaking out because everything was gorgeous and so bold and bright. Jill mixed so many different patterns, colors, and fabrics, and we even got some boho vibes, which immediately made us think of Vanessa Hudgens, of course!
We loved Jill’s show and we are so happy for her! What did you guys think of her runway show?
