CM Punk got quite the beating in UFC 203, and Conor McGregor couldn’t help joking about it! When asked his thoughts on his fellow fighter’s loss, Conor poked fun at CM Punk for getting his ‘a** whooped.’ Watch the funny video of Conor right here!
“I tell you what, fair play to him, cause he got in there to fall,” Conor, 28, told TMZ Sports while out in Hollywood after the fight. “And not a lot of people do. Not a lot of people have the balls to make that walk so fair play. Got his a** whooped, god bless he got his a** whooped. Those WWE guys are straight p*****s, but he isn’t. He got in the fall, so fair play to him, respect.” See Conor’s reaction below:
CM Punk, 37, faced Mickey Gall, 24, in the Sept. 10 UFC 2013 fight, getting taken down in about one minute after a pretty brutal beating from Mickey. CM, whose real name is Phil Brooks, took some painful blows to the head that left him bloody and bruised — but apparently Conor thought he took the crushing defeat like a man!
Perhaps Conor cut CM Punk some slack because it was his first match as a UFC fighter. CM Punk was once a WWE champion before retiring from wrestling in 2014, then decided to sign on to the UFC later that year. Even despite suffering some injuries in his training to fight in the UFC, CM Punk showed up to his first bout ready to take Mickey on…it just didn’t go so hot. Conor even reportedly had money on the fact that Mickey would win, but that seemingly didn’t keep him from feeling some mad respect for CM!
Considering Conor is the defending UFC Featherweight Champion, we likely won’t be seeing CM Punk face him in the octagon anytime soon (especially after CM Punk’s big loss). If we ever do, though, we’re thinking Conor might not be so nice to his fellow fighter!
