Tadashi Shoji’s SS17 collection was nothing short of stunning as it beautifully captured the essence of modern romanticism & sophisticated glamour. There’s no doubt the designer’s latest line will be a celebrity favorite, and we can totally see stars like Kaia Gerber and Ashley Benson falling majorly in love with these one-of-a-kind pieces!
Finding inspiration in artist Wu Junyong’s video work titled The Flying Ark, Tadashi Shoji created a breathtaking collection of spring/summer apparel for 2017, which debuted during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 10, that featured tons of sheer pieces, lace, and flowing trains inspired by air and birds. The designer even mentioned lingerie as an influence, which makes total sense as many pieces were in fact see-through, giving off a stylishly sultry vibe.
Michelle Obama, 52, is already a huge fan of Tadashi’s and we can totally see her in a few of these pieces — such as a stunning cropped jacket with embroidered birds on it. However, we think the designer’s latest line is geared slightly more towards a younger generation simply due to its romantic sex appeal, which is why we think stars like Ashley Benson, 26, and Emily Ratajkowski, 25, would fall head-over-heels for these looks.
Emily loves showing off her toned figure and flaunting her curves in both dresses and jumpsuits, making her the perfect candidate to choose one of Tadashi’s designs for a red carpet appearance. We would love to see her rock this black cut-out one-piece! And while Ashley doesn’t exude the same over-the-top energy that Emily does, she still loves a sweet, feminine look, which Tadashi mastered beautifully in this collection.
Model Kaia Gerber, 15, is SO young that a revealing piece would not be the best look for her, but we think she would absolutely love this lacy LBD. After all, the model wears black quite often and looks fabulous in it every time. Overall, Tadashi’s SS16 collection inspired us to incorporate lace into not just evening but also daytime looks, and showed us how sheer can be worn in a classy, elegant fashion.
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — are you as obsessed with Tadash’s newest collection as we are?
