It was all about the juxtaposition between filters and “no filter” makeup at the Desigual SS17 show on Sept. 8. Get the details on the runway look below!
For the Spring Summer 2017 show during New York Fashion Week, models at Desigual were one of two things — filtered or unfiltered. Some models were made up as popular Snapchat filters like the dog nose, flower crown, and deer, while other models rocked a “no makeup makeup look” by MAC.
MAC’s makeup lead Gordon Espinet described the look simply: “No filter,” he told HollywoodLife.com backstage.
Prep + Prime Fix + was used all over the face to “hydrate and replenish.”
Mineralize Timecheck Lotion was used to moisturize the face. Finally, Prep + Prime highlighter was used in key areas to cover redness and perfect the skin in a minimal, natural way.
Hair was styled in tight curls, by lead stylist Rodney Cutler for Ulta Beauty. Here is the inspiration from the brand:
“Referencing the spirit of travel and the carefree essence of summer, the DESIGUAL woman is truly an individual. Confident in herself, she wears her hair in her own unique style. Lived in and textured, it’s still romantic and luxurious. Short hair has a rich texture achieved with REDKEN Fashion Waves and a GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand.
Longer hair references the earliest travelers with a romantic almost Victorian feel of free flowing curls. The hair is parted in the center and misted with REDKEN One United Treatment Spray. Spiral set hair with the GHD 3/8″ curling iron. Once curled, the hair is raked through and misted again with One United. There’s a uniformity to the curl, but it feels rebellious, carefree and playful.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think it was cool that models rocked Snapchat filters on the runway?
