The next bachelor has arrived. Nick Viall headed on ‘GMA’ on Sept. 8 to promote season 21 of ‘The Bachelor,’ but actually admitted that when the ABC producers called him, he didn’t sign on to the show right away — he actually was hesitant.
“At first, I was like, ‘Really? Come on,'” he told the GMA hosts about when he got the initial call from The Bachelor producers. “I was very nervous. It took me a couple days; I told them I had to think about it. It’s a huge responsibility but its obviously an amazing opportunity.”
So, why did he need time to think about it?
“There’s a lot of expectations that come with it, and there are no guarantees,” he said. “You never know if you’re going to connect with someone, or maybe you’ll like someone that doesn’t feel the same way back. You never know!” Of course, Lara Spencer pointed out that the 35-year-old knows what’s that like — he was the runner up twice, first for Andi Dorfman and second, for Kaitlyn Bristowe. He was also on the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise, where he broke up with Jen on the finale.
Of course it’s not surprising he wasn’t 100 percent jumping at it. He know that many people don’t have the greatest viwes of him.
Bachelor in Paradise‘s Lauren H. interview where she admitted she was “not a big fan of” Nick. “He dated my great friend Jen on Bachelor in Paradise, but it was my understanding that they were still seeing each other after the show completed.”
“Jen is one of the smartest people I know, and she picks up on the bulls–t — her and I are both pretty good at picking up on guys’ game,” Lauren said. “She knew that he was kind of manipulating her towards the end. This just happened. They were solid a week ago… It’s fresh. I think he is going to have a hard time finding someone better than Jen.”
Of course, when we saw them split, they seemed to be on very cordial terms, he just wasn’t in love with her. Well, maybe she’ll turn up on The Bachelor? Season 21 will air on ABC in January 2017.
