In the NBA, there’s no bigger rivalry than LeBron James and Stephen Curry. But how does LeBron really feel about the Golden State Warriors star? LeBron finally shared his thoughts on Steph while on ‘Ellen.’ Click to watch.
“Steph…who you beat [in the NBA Finals] will be here next week,” Ellen DeGeneres, 58, said to LeBron, 31, during his appearance on the Sept. 7 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “He seems like a lovely guy. Do you know him well?”
Surprising, LeBron had nothing but good words about his Golden State Warriors rival. “[Steph, 28] is a great guy. And a fierce competitor, I’ll tell you that.” LeBron then warned the audience – “Don’t get fooled by that smile when he come(s) up in here. If any of y’all play basketball or golf, he’s gonna try and take it from you.”
That’s actually kind of sweet of LeBron, especially what he said next. Though the world sees him and Steph as two opposing players, the Cleveland Cavaliers star just sees two guys from Ohio. “The best thing for me is that we are two of the most talked about athletes in the world and we’re birth born on Akron, Ohio. That means a lot to me growing up in my hometown.”
Though, LeBron might not be so sweet on Steph if he lost out to the Dubs in the 2016 NBA Finals. LeBron led the Cavs out of a 3-1 deficit to their Cleveland’s first major championship in 50 years. It was amazing. While Steph was gutted with the loss, especially after the Warriors had the winningest record in NBA history, he didn’t end the season on a loss. He actually beat LeBron for Sportsman of The Year at the 2016 ESPYs.
While Ellen got to the bottom of LeBron’s real feelings about Steph, maybe she could find out what the NBA Champ and Mark Wahlberg, 45, were doing together in an unknown gym? LeBron claimed he and the Lone Survivor star are “working” on something. After LeBron’s hilarious role in The Trainwreck, is he working with Mark on a new movie?
Are you surprised by LeBron’s kind words about Steph, HollywoodLifers? Do you think these two are classic sports rivals like Magic Johnson, 57, and Larry Bird, 59, or Michael Jordan, 53, and Reggie Miller, 51?
