Well, this is interesting. Katie Holmes may not actually be under Tom Cruise’s thumb. HollywoodLife.com has spoken EXCLUSIVELY with an expert who claims the reports that Katie’s divorce agreement includes a clause about her not being able to date publicly for five years are wrong.
“I don’t believe it [that Katie Holmes agreed not to date for five years],” Tony Ortega, Scientology expert and editor of The Underground Bunker, tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “No one agrees to that, it’s ridiculous. Also, equally nonsensical, is the claim that she’ll be free to talk about Tom [Cruise] after five years. Tom broke up with Mimi Rogers in 1990. He broke up with Nicole Kidman in 2001. Have you heard one word from either of them about Tom since then? No. The kinds of non-disclosure agreements Cruise and the church have people sign don’t have expiration dates on them. That story was complete nonsense.” But is it really?
As we previously told you, it was reported that the 37-year-old actress had signed the “ridiculous” agreement in order to get the divorce over with as fast as possible. “Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source told Radar Online, who was the first to report the news.
Though we’re not sure what to believe now, as the agreement would definitely explain why she has kept her long rumored romance with Jamie Foxx secret for years. If the divorce agreement actually exists, the Batman Begins actress has another year left before she can stop hiding her love for Jamie. So we wonder…
