Well, that was fast. Nickelodeon star Drake Bell was sentenced to four days in Los Angeles County Jail after his second DUI conviction, but was in and out of the place faster than you can say ‘hug me, brotha’. He struck a plea deal, then served only one day before being released on Sept. 3 for good behavior. Get all of the details right here.
Drake Bell, 30, has been released from jail after serving one of his four-day sentence, PEOPLE confirms. His booking sheet indicates that he served his time on Friday, Sept. 2, and was released Saturday. He has also been placed on four years probation, and TMZ reports that the former Drake & Josh star, who was allegedly “swerving and driving 55 in a 35 MPH zone”, will have to attend an alcohol education program. Seems fair!
Drake was previously convicted for DUI in 2015, when the actor was pulled over at 2:18 AM by police for speeding, straddling a lane and stopping abruptly at a red light. Tahnee Lightfoot, a Glendale Police spokeswoman, told PEOPLE that the police “smelled an odor of alcohol” on Drake, which led them to administer a sobriety test. He “did not satisfactorily complete” it, and was arrested, but released after posting a $20,000 bail. Per California state law, a second conviction within ten years requires a minimum four-day sentence in county jail.
In case you forgot, Drake was also arrested in 2009 for driving drunk in San Diego. Not a great track record.

Drake’s behavior saddens us, so we’d like to take a moment and remember his glory days. In Feb. 2016, he reunited with Josh Peck on the show Grandfathered, making for a little Drake & Josh reunion. It reminds us of the Drake we used to know and love, and we only hope he cleans up his act after this latest DUI!
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that Drake only had to serve 24 of his 96 hours in jail?
