Taylor Swift’s relationship with Calvin Harris made even more headlines AFTER they broke up than when they were together — and the DJ isn’t happy about it. In fact, in a new interview, he even admitted to feeling a bit disrespected by his ex once they split. Yikes!
“When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus,” Calvin Harris, 32, told British GQ. “She [Taylor Swift] respected my feelings in that sense.” Even though this was a positive statement about the singer, if you look at it in context, it’s actually a little bit of a dig!
That’s because, earlier in the interview, Calvin admitted he found it “difficult” that the breakup was more public “than the relationship itself.” So, basically, since he felt respected in the relationship, he’s basically saying he didn’t feel too respected afterward when things were so highly publicized.
The reason things blew up so much after the breakup was because Tay almost immediately started dating Tom Hiddleston, 35, which had people speculating that she’d already been seeing the actor before breaking up Calvin. The 26-year-old’s relationship with Tom was quite a whirlwind, and after being almost inseparable for their first several weeks together, things quickly cooled off, and they just ended their three-month romance.
Calvin was obviously NOT about having his relationship with Taylor in the public eye. While they were rarely photographed together throughout their romance, she and the Thor actor were caught by photographers multiple times a day. However, that clearly got to be too much even for her, because she broke up with him once she realized how public he wanted their relationship to be, according to Us Weekly. Isn’t there a happy-medium anymore?!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Taylor disrespected Calvin after their split? Or did she handle it just fine?
