Tommy Hilfiger Introduces #TOMMYNOW: A Shoppable Runway Show During NYFW

Tommy Hilfiger just announced its first-ever in season fashion show, #TOMMYNOW, which will take place in NYC on Sept. 9th. The Fall 2016 designs, including the TommyXGigi collection designed in collaboration with Gigi Hadid, 21, will be available to purchase globally through e-commerce, retail, wholesale and social commerce channels the moment they hit the runway. We are so excited about this new era in fashion and we couldn’t think of a better designer to pave the way for the “See Now. Have Now.” availability through an amazing fashion show.

Not only will the fashion show be shoppable, it is also the official global launch of the TommyXGigi collaborative capsule with our fave supermodel Gigi Hadid. Gigi will open the show, of course, in a look from the TommyXGigi collection, which she designed in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.

“The #TOMMYNOW runway show will be open to the public, reflecting Hilfiger’s longstanding vision to democratize fashion and engage consumers in a fun, unique experience both onsite and online. The shoppable live stream will allow those at the show and those watching remotely to immediately shop every look on” The entire fashion show will cater to the current era we live in, where we want everything right away. It’s described as “an interactive experience that is open to consumers and amplified through digital commerce. The runway collection will be immediately shoppable at the show using digital touchscreens, and remotely through live stream and social commerce channels, including Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Pinterest.”

Tommy explained in a statement why he chose to embark on this new fashion journey, “#TOMMYNOW is the ultimate expression of my brand philosophy, and the show I have always wanted to present. We are a brand that breaks conventions, puts the consumer at the heart of our business, and believes in creating fun, inspiring experiences that fuse fashion and entertainment. Having supermodel and social media icon Gigi Hadid headlining this event will be an unforgettable moment, and I am excited to share it with all our friends and fans around the world on Friday night.”

#TOMMYNOW is a two-day event, with the runway show taking place at on Sept. 9th at “Tommy Pier” (Pier 16 at the South Street Seaport). “Inspired by harbor front fairs from Coney Island to Santa Monica, Tommy Pier will feature fairground rides, carnival games, and an eclectic mix of vendors inspired by the world of TommyXGigi. The pier includes two TommyXGigi pop-up shops, a Tommy Hilfiger vintage shop curated by Frankie Collective, Hilfiger Records by Jones Music Vintage Vinyl, nail art by Valley, temporary tattoos with custom nautical-inspired designs by Tattly, and a pop-up studio by Bert Krak from Smith Street Tattoo Parlour. Guests will also be invited to enjoy classic fairground foods and iconic fair rides, including a 40-foot Ferris wheel.”

For the second day of the highly anticipated fashion event, Tommy Pier will open again to the public on Sept. 10th, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. with an amazing line-up of DJs, LED screens that will broadcast the show, and another special appearance by Gigi.
