Beyonce hopped on board the ‘Soul Train’ for her epic, star-studded 35th birthday bash with special guests like, Usher, Chance The Rapper, Alicia Keys and more celebs! The Queen got her groove on in NYC, September 5 for an A-list celebration and everyone’s 70’s-inspired outfits were AMAZING! We’ve got all your party pics, RIGHT HERE!
All hail Queen Bey! The superstar turned the big 3-5 on Sept. 4, but with hubby Jay Z‘s, 46, Made In America music fest going on, all her pals gathered the next night to get their party on with birthday girl, Beyonce. With the theme of the party being the iconic TV show Soul Train, the couple came to play and she has never looked so fly! Bey was dressed up in an insane, sparkling, one-legged jumpsuit that showed off her toned figure. Her hair was voluptuous as ever in a half-up, ponytail with curls bursting everywhere, and she totally nailed the disco vibe of the evening! Jay made the perfect companion in an all black ensemble! The rapper’s printed black shirt showed his bare chest, and the best part about his 70’s-inspired look? — His sky-high wig, tied back with a colorful bandana! He kept it funky with a military-designed jacket with gold detail. Both of them looked like they’d stepped right out of the late Don Cornelius‘ groundbreaking music show.
Of course everyone who’s anyone came out to honor Bey, including her good friends and former Destiny’s Child members, Michelle Williams, 36, and Kelly Rowland, 35, who looked the part dressed as amazing disco divas. Her sister, Solange Knowles, 30, was there to celebrate her big sister’s special day and she sported stylish, oversized glasses. Other stars in attendance were, Serena Williams, 34, Usher, 37, Carmelo, 32, and La La Anthony, 37, Chance The Rapper, 23, Alicia Keys, 35, and Swizz Beatz, 37, Janelle Monae, 30, Chanel Iman, 25, Kendrick Lamar, 29, Sean “Diddy” Combs, 40, and Cassie, 30, Joan Smalls, 28, and Jourdan Dunn, 26. The cutest guest of all though, had to be Blue Ivy, 4! The little one matched the theme perfectly in her own two-piece get-up. She wished her mommy a “Happy Birthday” when she took the mic and stole the show completely! The crowd seemed to enjoy the sweet moment too!
Bey got a massive cake, topped with sparklers. In a new outfit (booty-hugging shorts and a light-colored top), she took the mic to thank her guests for coming out to celebrate with her. “Thank you, everybody, for coming. You guys did such an incredible job committing, and I’m so happy to be here.” She then said, “Thank you, baby,” to her hubby, Jay. The two seemed to have a great night as they danced the night away, and she was even caught grinding up on her man! The big event was decked out to look like a 70’s soul extravaganza, and the music might have been the best part. A mix of old school jams, and today’s hits rocked the dimly lit venue with the words “Soul Train” lit up on the wall. SO cool!
It’s great that Bey had the chance to be free and cut loose after the amazing and hectic year she had leading up to turning 35. She completely slayed the VMA’s Aug. 28 with one of the most memorable performances in show history, knocking out a dramatic medley of songs from her visual album, Lemonade, in an epic 16 minute mini-concert. However, just hours before her epic bday bash, Beyonce postponed her Sept. 7 concert in East Rutherford, NJ “as a result of strict doctor’s orders for vocal rest.” The concert is set to take place on Oct. 7.
But, speaking of Lemonade, she dropped one of her most groundbreaking albums ever with its release and theme of female empowerment. After it’s April 2016 debut, she then embarked on a wildly successful world tour, thrilling fans at every stop. And who can forget how she started 2016, by releasing the song “Formation” on the eve of Super Bowl 50. Not to mention she went on to use her “special guest” spot during Coldplay’s halftime show to steal the thunder away from the British band. She performed the song live for the first time ever…in front of over 100 million viewers! She continually ups the bar for every performer out there no matter what she’s doing…including her amazing birthday celebration! Happy birthday, Bey!
