Drake Bell has been a bad, bad boy and so he’s headed to the big house. That’s right, the ‘Drake and Josh’ star is going to jail after his second DUI conviction. Get the full scoop on Drake’s legal troubles right here!
After receiving his second DUI conviction, Drake Bell, 30, struck a plea bargain and got just 96 hours of time in Los Angeles County Jail. This is a mandatory sentence, given that this is the actor’s second drunk driving conviction. But, going to the slammer isn’t all that the former Nickelodeon star will have to deal with. Drake is looking at four years probation and will have to attend an alcohol ed program, according to TMZ. Ouch.
Drake was convicted on DUI charges back in January 2015, and previously arrested for drunk driving in San Diego in 2009. In January, Drake was pulled over after police caught him driving 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. An officer also saw Drake swerving after he made an abrupt stop at a red light. After being pulled over, cops smelled alcohol coming from Drake’s car, which led to him failing an on-site sobriety test. After that, Drake was arrested. At the time, he only spent 10 hours locked up, but spent a hefty $20,000 on bail.
So, will Drake survive his 96 hours in prison? Probably. But, the bigger question is, will he be able to get his act together, and not let this happen a third time? We’re hoping that Drake cleans up for both his safety, and others. DUIs are no laughing matter, and the actor has to know that. If he doesn’t by now, maybe his four days in L.A. County Jail, and four years probation, will do the trick.
