Reporter Mom Pleads Guilty To Child Endangerment After Cocaine Found In Baby’s System

SO crazy! Arizona TV reporting couple, Krystin Lisaius and her husband Som Lisaius, have pleaded guilty to endangering their 4-month-old daughter who had cocaine in her system when Krystin breastfed her after ingesting the drug herself! The infant could have died, and now, the couple may face up to 2 years of jail time!

Two former Tucson, Arizona TV personalities, Krystin Lisaius and Som Lisauis, have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment charges, stemming from an incident back in May in which their newborn daughter, 4 months, tested positive for cocaine.

And while the charge is currently considered a felony, it can be designated as a misdemeanor after the sentence is served, according to Krisanne LoGalbo, a Pima County Superior Court spokeswoman who spoke to the Arizona Daily Star.

Krystin and Som filed the plea on the morning of Aug. 31 and they’re facing up to two years in prison or probation. Originally the two were also charged with child abuse and drug possession, however, if the judge accepts their plea agreement, the other charges will be completely dropped.

For those who need a refresher, Krystin and Som brought their baby daughter to a hospital on May 15 after she wouldn’t wake up and her eyes rolled back into her head. The poor child was also “limp” and “wobbly.” Doctors wanted to test her blood, but the parents refused and ended up leaving the facility.

Thankfully though, a urinalysis and a toxicology screen WAS eventually conducted in the presence of hospital staff and officials with the child welfare department. The tests shockingly revealed that the baby girl had cocaine in her system. Both Krystin and Som were also found to have cocaine in their systems.

And while at first the mother-of-one denied using cocaine and even said she didn’t know how the baby was exposed to it, she ended up admitting to police that she snorted cocaine with her husband on May 14 while hosting friends in their Oro Valley home, according to the Arizona Daily Star. 

Luckily the baby is ok now as she was placed by the state’s Department of Child Safety with her maternal grandmother once she was released from the hospital, according to her parent’s attorney, Michael Piccarreta.
