Damian Swann tried to play the ‘Do You Know Who I Am?’ card, and as usual, it didn’t work. In a new video that was taken on March 18, the night the NFL cornerback was arrested for speeding at almost twice the limit, we can see him protest and beg police to give him a break just because he plays for the New Orleans Saints! WATCH here.
Damian Swann, 23, tried his hardest not to be arrested when he was pulled over in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, but when you drive 100 miles an hour in 65mph zone, not even football players are exempt from the law! TMZ has obtained a video of Damian trying to talk the officer out of hauling him off to jail. WATCH:
“You’re being placed under arrest for reckless driving,” the police officer tells Damian in the video. “Reckless driving?!” is the NFL player’s incredulous response, like he has no idea how fast he was going. “Yeah,” the cop responds in an obvious tone of voice. “For what?” Damian asks. “For what? Going 100 miles an hour in a 65 zone,” the officer tells him (duh).
“I didn’t really mean to go that fast. Sir, I’m really trying not [to get on] ESPN in the morning, man,” Damian protests in the video, subtly trying to open up the conversation to his profession. The cop asks his name. “Damian Swann — I play for the New Orleans Saints — I just got drafted,” he says innocently.
The cop’s response? “I don’t make your decisions.” Nice try, dude.
The officer then searches the car and finds cash and a condom, telling Damian he will not need the latter of the two in jail. Ha.
