The ‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’ finale went out with a bang — and a bad break up. However, Ava and Flash were still together in the end. So, should the show get picked up for another season, will that romance continue? HollywoodLife.com spoke with John Corbett and Elaine Hendrix to find out what they’re hoping comes next.
Could Flash and Ava really ride off to the
sunset farm happily ever after? Ehh. While she admits that there is “a lot of chemistry” between Ava and Flash, Elaine Hendrix isn’t fully convinced. “I went in every day to Denis [Leary] and was like, ‘A rewrite’s coming where Ava and Johnny get back together, right?’ and ‘This is all just a dream, right?’” she told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Television Critics’ Association Press Tour last in August.
“I feel we have that history [of] 25 years, and now I hate to see that go away. So, I’m actually personally very conflicted about it,” she said. And when it comes to being “in love,” John Corbett has to kid of agree. “I don’t think they’re in love. I feel like they’re that comfortable couple, but I don’t feel like we have red hot love. Even though our sex scenes was fun, I think they will ultimately miss their Johnny and [their] Gigi,” he said.
Their relationship is also about more than love, they both agreed with — it’s revenge, it’s relief, and freshness, as Elaine says. As for next season — if the show gets picked up — John hopes for more music and Elaine hopes that they could go on the road together. Can you imagine all of that craziness in one bus?
Elaine also added that she and Denis have “already talked about a potential” for the band in season three, but who knows what will happen. Denis doesn’t start writing until they’re officially picked up. Do you want the show to return, HollywoodLifers?
