Emma Watson and Dan Stevens are the Belle and Beast we’ve been waiting for! A brand-new sneak peek gives fans a first look at Emma and Dan getting into character for the ‘Beauty & the Beast’ live-action movie. Click to WATCH! And prepare to swoon.
Emma, 26, and Dan, 33, have the perfect chemistry to play Belle and the Beast. The new footage is taken from the movie’s table read, as the co-stars act through a scene featuring their characters. Emma, as Belle, asks, “What are you reading?” Dan, as the Beast, grumbles back, “Nothing.”
“Guinevere and Lancelot,” Belle says, and then the Beast corrects her: “King Arthur and the Round Table.” Belle quips, “Still a romance.” The Beast, who always has to have the last word, adds, “Felt like a change.”
These two simply are Belle and the Beast. This is the first time we’ve seen Emma and Dan together as the two classic Disney characters. In the first look, director Bill Condon, 60, reveals why he decided to take on the challenge of the live-action movie. “Technology has caught up to the ideas that were introduced in that movie,” he says.
The sneak peeks also gives us our first glimpse of the live-action versions of Lumiere and Cogsworth, voiced by Ewan McGregor, 45, and Ian McKellen, 77. The new footage was released in anticipation of the special 25th anniversary edition of Beauty & the Beast, which will be available for digital download on Sept. 6. On that same day, a new clip will be released of the live-action movie! Hopefully it’s a full trailer!
Beauty & the Beast will hit theaters on March 17, 2017. The movie also stars Luke Evans, 37, Josh Gad, 35, Emma Thompson, 57, Kevin Kline, 68, Stanley Tucci, 55, Audra McDonald, 46, and more.
