Somebody’s going to be in big trouble! FX was working hard to keep the season six theme of ‘American Horror Story’ a secret, and two new hints just surfaced that may have revealed it — and revealed which of those multiple teasers was the real one.
This week, fans pointed out that the review site, Rotten Tomatoes had titled the new season of American Horror Story as The Mist. After people started buzzing, it has since been labeled as false. However, here’s a grab of what it looked like on Tuesday:
The rumors continued to swirl on August 31, when a Reddit user posted the below photo of a TVGuide, also with the title listed as American Horror Story: The Mist.
Now, Ryan Murphy and co. have revealed they planned on keeping the theme a secret until the September 14 premiere, so they have yet to comment on this but we have to wonder if this is real. The show has revealed multiple teaser videos for the new season, but they’re not all real. In fact, on Aug. 9, FX CEO John Landgraf revealed that there were actually “many more trailers” that we hadn’t yet seen — and “one of them is accurate; the others are all misdirects.”
So is the trailer above the only real one? Or is the TV guide, the Rotten Tomatoes page, etc. just all more misdirects? I guess we’ll have to wait until mid September to find out. If it helps at all, we can assume from the “Anthology” trailer that this will be connected to the other five seasons in some way, shape or form. Let’s just hope it’s not in the form of the demon child from season one, okay?
Do you think The Mist is the new theme? Do you hope so? Let us know all your theories!
