Kanye West just doesn’t get why Ray J is reportedly upset that he gave him a shout out in his VMAs speech. There’s really nothing to be upset about it at all, according to Kanye! Click through to watch his baffled explanation!
Kanye West was stopped by TMZ while leaving The Mercer Hotel in NYC on August 30, and told that Ray J was reportedly a little cheesed about his shout out at the MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye, 38, gave a four minute speech at the VMAs on August 28 that mentioned his controversial “Famous” music video. You know, the one that featured a bunch of naked celebrities — well, their wax figures — together in bed with Kanye! “I mean, like, I put Ray J in there, bro! This is fame, bro,” he told the VMAs audience.
“I don’t understand why people would get mad (about the video),” Kanye told the TMZ cameras on the NYC streets. “We’re all in the same bed. I don’t understand why people would get mad.” Here’s why Ray J’s reportedly so mad: when Ray J released his song “I Hit It First”, which is about his sex tape with Kim Kardashian, Kanye was furious, and shot back with insults in his Life of Pablo song “Highlights”. But Kanye casually made reference to the sex tape at the VMAs, and Kim, 35, was smiling and laughing in the audience. Double standard!
Kanye was also asked if there was anything he wanted to say in his VMAs speech but couldn’t because of time. “I don’t know, just love each other man,” he said. “I don’t know, that’s the whole point I wanted to make; just love each other and have a good time and life. Just do everything we can to appreciate each other.” That’s really nice!
