Grace VanderWaal performs like a pro on ‘AGT,’ but she gets the jitters just like everyone else! HollywoodLife.com spoke to the singer EXCLUSIVELY after the Aug. 30 episode and told us that every time she’s on stage it’s ‘nerve-racking,’ but she loves the ‘adrenaline rush’ she gets while performing. Check out our Q&A!
At the end of your performance you said, “Oh my God!” It looked like you were nervous. Are you still nervous on the stage every week?
Grace: Every single time it is just as nerve-racking! Even performing in a small coffee shop, every single time it is nerve-racking no matter what I am doing!
Would it feel weird if you weren’t nervous, does it actually help your performance?
Honestly I am really good under pressure! I am that kind of person! So I fell that it kind of helps me for the adrenaline rush of being so nervous while it is happening!
What else does America need to see from you that they may have not seen already?
Just… I have so much more to give! I hope people can recognize that! And that is a reason why I want to go through as I really want to show that! I don’t like self promotion but vote!
Grace, 12, has been a fan favorite on the show ever since she wowed everyone with her incredible performance during auditions. Simon Cowell, 56, has called her the “next Taylor Swift.” She recently performed her original song “Beautiful Thing” on the show. She’s already in the semi-finals, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if she won season 11! America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
