Yes, you read that right! Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were pop royalty for three years, and now they may just be a pair once again. An insider exclusively tells HollywoodLife.com that JT would work with Britney again on ‘something amazing.’ Yes please!
It all started in an interview with BreatheHeavy when Britney Spears was asked about her dream collaborations. “I would love to work with…Aerosmith seems very good and bright. He’s (Steven Tyler) a genius, I think. He’s very rock ‘n roll and sings from the soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good.” Wait a minute, what?
Yes, Britney told the site that she’d like to work with her ex-Micky Mouse club boyfriend turned mega star. And now we’ve found out exclusively that Justin isn’t actually opposed to the idea.
“Justin would be totally down with doing a song with Britney sometime in the future,” our insider said. “He would want it to be something amazing and not just do it for the nostalgia of it all. Though he is not actively pursuing a duet with her, he would welcome the discussion and would be happy if it were to happen.”
Well, he wouldn’t be the only one. Fans were absolutely crazy for the pair, who dated from 1999 to 2002; her first ever MTV Video Music Award performance was actually with Justin and the rest of N’SYNC, when she debuted “…Baby One More Time,” and the boy band performed “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” Not that she really remembers!
It was 17 years ago, but we’re kind of shocked to here that Brit doesn’t really remember that performance. “I think I was with N’Sync when I performed for the first time,” she said in an interview with Elvis Duran and the Z Morning Zoo on Monday, August 29. “I think the whole setup was a classroom, and my four main dancers were in the front at their desk and I came out of my locker. But, you know what, I don’t remember at all. I have no recollection. I couldn’t tell you anything about it.”
Well either way, we want to see Justin and Britney record together… stat! Don’t you?
