Stuntwoman Jessie Graff made history on August 29 by becoming the first woman to ever complete the stage 1 course of ‘American Ninja Warrior’! Jessie sped through the notoriously difficult course like it was nothing. You have to watch her kill it after the jump!
She may have been dressed like Green Lantern, but Jessie Graff proved that she’s the real-life Wonder Woman on the August 29 American Ninja Warrior competition! The professional stuntwoman, 32, has been kicking butt in the preliminaries, so everyone knew that she was going to do well in the strength and endurance competition’s extremely difficult first course, but a win wasn’t necessarily expected. That’s because no woman has ever done it before!
Yes, Jessie made history as the first woman to ever complete stage one! During the event, only eight competitors overall competed, with Jessie coming in fourth place. Jessie previously set records as the first woman to scale the 14.5-foot Warped Wall during a Los Angeles qualifier, as well as in the LA finals. She’s been on American Ninja Warrior twice before (previously in 2013 and 2015), and she finally achieved her ultimate goal!
“I hope it will show women that feminine is strong – that we can frequently do more than people think we can – sometimes even more than we believe ourselves, if we’re willing to work for it,” she told People of her accomplishment. “We may have to train smarter and harder, but if we achieve greater focus, technique and strategy, we can beat the guys. I know I’m not the strongest or the fastest. There are plenty of women who can do what I did, but I’m honored and grateful to have been the first – to get to be a part of this huge movement in which we challenge our perceptions of what’s possible.”
Jessie works as a stuntwoman for so many insanely cool movies and shows, including: The Dark Knight, X-Men: First Class, Castle, Sons Of Anarchy, Supergirl, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and even Pretty Little Liars. She’s the closest we have to an actual superhero!
HollywoodLifers, help us congratulate Jessie in the comments!
