The time has come… ‘Pretty Little Liars’ is ending after season 7. The shocking news was revealed on Aug. 29 during a Facebook Live with showrunner Marlene King and our beloved Liars. Find out when the show’s final episodes will air!
Marlene King and cast members Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse announced that season 7 of the hit Freeform show would indeed be the show’s last. The final 10 episodes of the series will begin airing in April 2017. The series finale will be a two-hour television event. Even though we’re devastated that the show is ending, at least we’ll finally know who A.D. is!
The final season of Pretty Little Liars will continue to be full of drama, romance, and surprise appearances. Fan favorites like Noel (Brant Daugherty), Lucas (Brendan Robinson) and Jenna (Tammin Sursok) have already popped up on the show. Wren (Julian Morris) and Pastor Ted (Edward Kerr) are also set to appear. A #PLLWedding for one of the Liars will happen in the latter half of the final season.
Marlene and the rest of the cast have played coy about the show’s final season for months. Freeform and the cast has acknowledged that season 7 “is the end of PLL as we know it,” but nothing about a final season had been officially confirmed — until now.
HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY with Troian’s fiance, Patrick J. Adams, 35, teased the show was going to end back in June 2016. He told us that the “show is coming to an end this year,” which fans confused about what was going to happen after season 7.
The Pretty Little Liars summer finale will air Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform. It’s going to be one killer episode, full of reunions and a shocking death.
