Aww! Who’d have ever thought liberal singer Miley Cyrus and conservative Sen. John McCain would ever find common ground on anything? It turns out their mutual love of Britney Spears is something they both agree on! You’ve gotta see ‘The Voice’ judge’s adorable Instagram post sharing the adoration for Brit Brit!
So cute! Miley Cyrus, 23, had to completely agree with Sen. John McCain, 79, for being on the Britney Spears mutual love train! The singer posted the headline to a CNN article that read “John McCain admits soft spot for Britney Spears” and she totally agreed with the ultra-conservative Republican. “Ditto McCain DITTO @britneyspears,” she captioned the pic showing off that adoring Britney is something that crosses all generations and belief systems. She’s universal in that we all have a warm place in our hearts for the icon and all of the ups and downs we’ve seen her go through.
Britney reminded us of all of the reasons why she’s so easy to worship in her amazing Carpool Karaoke segment Aug. 26. She revisited some of the most classic hits of her 18 year career, opened up about wanting more kids, and dished over how she was done with men. She even got in a strange little conversation about tickle fetishes with host James Corden, 37.
It turns out we have James to thank for getting Britney to sing two of her biggest — and oldest — hits, “Baby One More Time” and “Oops I Did It Again.” She told KTU 103.5 FM’s Cubby & Carolina Bermudez on their NYC radio show that the Late Late Show host controlled the playlist and kept playing the songs over and over, even though she said, “I don’t want to hear that song again.”
“They didn’t show that part,” she laughed, saying that “Baby One More Time” and “Oops!” were two of the tracks she was sick to death of hearing on repeat. “Oh my God, and he kept playing them. He put a wig on for it. Yeah, I totally went along with it.” We’re SO glad she did because it totally made the segment so incredible to hear her revisit those classics. Apparently Miley and John agree too!
