This is so tragic! A Hungarian crew member working on the set of ‘Blade Runner 2’ was allegedly killed when a structure collapsed on Aug. 25. We have all of the devastating details on the incident, right here.
Oh my gosh! Filming has begun for the long-awaited sequel to the 1982 cult classic film Blade Runner, and though fans are thrilled, it’s a very sad day for the crew. According to Mashable, a local crew member on a set in Hungary was killed when a set collapsed on him at Budapest’s Origo Studios on Aug. 25. Poor thing!
Filming has wrapped in that location, and the man (who has yet to be identified) was working under a platform on which the set was built while dismantling it, and in a freak accident it fell down on top of him, taking his life. There is no information yet as to what went wrong.
There have been several other tragic on-set accidents lately. Dylan O’Brien was involved in a horrible incident on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which also nearly took his life back in March 2016. “I was a pretty traumatic accident. He’s definitely taking some time to heal, you know. He did get a surgery. The boy just needs the love,” Dylan’s Teen Wolf co-star Tyler Posey told Clevver TV.
Luckily, Dylan survived (though it did set back filming for Maze Runner and Teen Wolf for a while), but the Hungarian set worker was not so lucky. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Blade Runner 2 cast and crew in this tough time, and we hope that everyone stays safe on set from now on!
