A series of storms made their way across central Indiana, and the town of Kokomo was right in the path of a giant twister. An employee of a sports bar decided to become a daredevil cameraman and used his smart phone to capture the tornado as it came through. Chilling video shows a Starbucks right next door at the start of the video until the wall of wind comes through and literally picks it up and flattens it to the ground, pancaking the entire structure.

At the end of the video the person shooting it says with concern that there were people inside the coffee shop when it was destroyed. Sure enough, he was right, but amazingly no one was seriously hurt in the collapse! It turns out everyone sheltered inside of a bathroom and managed to ride out the storm, even though the building was completely leveled. Photographs from the scene show relieved employees smiling with joy at surviving the near-tragedy, and Starbucks confirmed that their employees and customers were okay. Whew! After watching that video, you’d think there was no way anyone inside could have survived unscathed!

While the Starbucks employees are lucky to be alive after such a close call with death, the town about 60 miles north of Indianapolis isn’t out of the woods yet, as local weather reports show more tornadoes heading in for a direct hit on the city. Residents have been advised to seek shelter as this wild band of storms rolls through the area. Even though the destruction from the first tornado was crazy, there were no major injuries or any deaths. Hopefully everyone stays safe as the new rounds of dangerous weather head their way.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of the amazing video? Would you have stayed and shot that or tried to seek cover instead?
