The Chosen One has spoken! Just so everyone knows, Daniel Radcliffe is never going to close the door on playing Harry Potter again. The actor revealed in an all-new interview that he doesn’t ‘feel comfortable’ going back to the role right now, but he’s not opposed to it in the future!
When asked on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live on Aug. 14 about whether or not he would consider reprising his portrayal of HP on Broadway or West End, Daniel replied: “It’s a tricky one. You never want to close a door on anything, especially something that’s been so good to me. But I do think, at the moment, I’m definitely not at a stage where I would feel comfortable going back to it. Who knows if in 10, 20 years I would feel differently about that, and I think I’ve got a little while before I’m sort of age-appropriate for this Harry.”
Well, this is AMAZING news. Daniel will always be the one and only Harry Potter in our minds. Daniel admitted on the radio show that he hasn’t yet seen or read The Cursed Child, J.K. Rowling’s latest script that focuses on Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger’s kids at Hogwarts. If the play is ever adapted into a movie, it would only be fitting for Daniel to take on the role of Harry again.
The author of the beloved book series is also about to release 3 new Harry Potter books. The ebooks — Power, Politics And Pesky Poltergeists, Heroism, Hardship & Dangerous Hobbies and Hogwarts: An Incomplete & Unreliable Guide, will center on certain characters and notable places from the books.
J.K.’s 2001 book Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them was adapted into a movie and will be released in the fall of 2016. No one ever gets tired of seeing J.K.’s magical world on the big screen, so it wouldn’t surprise us if her ebooks made it to the theaters eventually!
